So you got past the minions huh? Good job ! Welcome to my website. My name is Panagiotis Grigoropoulos and I am a web designer and developer (and so many more...).
Information
I was born in a sunny and warm morning of June back in 1984. Around 7 o'clock. After that there is a gap between that time and the time that I reached 2. I remeber very little from my first home in Halandri. On my 2nd birthday I moved to a new house nearby where I lived the next 22 years of my life. After that I moved to Vrillisia where I lived 2 years. Today I live with my favorite girl Helen and our little cat Lilly in Gerakas, a quiet suburb of Athens.
Studies
Like every one here in Greece, I went to school and high school near the area where I grew up. After the National Exams Igot into my first University of choice, the Electronics Department in Technological Institute of Pireaus. However, the love I had for the internet and video games didn't keep me there for a long time and soon after (3 semesters to be precise) I left the department. I then went and studied in IVT AKMI, for two degrees. As a Video Games Developer and Programmer and as an Applications Developer. After that, I went to earn the Bachelor in Web & Multimedia from the Roehampton University in London. And this is what I am doing still...
Career
I started my career as a game developer, after I graduated from IVT AKMI Game Developer program. The first job on this market was in Aventurine SA , the developers of a Massive Multiplayer Online Game named DarkFall Online. I stayed there for 8 months, until the game was out in the market.
The game was a hit and my name is on the credits, thing that makes me very proud. After all Darkfall Online is the first Greek effort for a serious game. After Aventurine I got employed at 01Pliroforiki SA, a firm that deals with e-learning and web apps. There I created websites and various applications, and took part in a BlackBoard seminar that got me the "BlackBoard Certified Technician" degree. After 01Pliroforiki I got employed in Smirniotakis Publications SA, where I developed applications and websites for e-learning purposes. Today I work at ATCOM SA, the leading web development/design and multimedia firm in Greece. There I turn designs to websites. My work title there is HTML Author. From December 2010 and after, with a collaboration between GreekTuts.net and the Greek tech magazine PC Magazine, I will have an article published in every new issue of the magazine. The article will be a tutorial around programming languages and web development.
